Bonjour, j'ai un discours à écrire en anglais qui doit durer entre 1 et 2 min, sauf que je le trouve un peu long, pouvez vous me dire ce qui selon vous pourrez être supprimé? Merci d'avance

Good morning, I’m a member of an organisation you probably know, called Unicef, which was created to defend children rights.
Today, I would like to draw your attention to one of the worse effects of globalization. A subject which, according to me, doesn’t concern more than it should the leaders of this world. I’m talking about child labour.

Child labour is the employment of children in any work that deprives them of their childhood. Everybody here knows that having a happy childhood and as well an education are essential to a healthy human being.

Even if child labor was abolished for a long time in our developed countries, we can’t ignore that it still exists in poor and developping nations. Millions of children get up early to go to work instead of taking the road for school.
They are just unfortunate children who deserve, like others, to go to school. Child labour must not stand in the way of education. They don’t learn reading or writing. How do you want them to have a decent future if they don’t know the basics of education and can’t be graduated?
They can’t.

Besides, it seems important to underline that over half of them put themselves in danger by working in coal mines and can have fatal injuries. Young children often work in hard conditions and some brands abuse them. Those children work themselves to death every day to make the things you buy. In fact, have you already payed attention to the place where the toys you give to your children, who, them, have the right to a household or an education, come from ? But the worse, they are not the kids, but the ones who have had the absurd idea of exploiting them ! I think that it’s abuse their innocence and weakness. Which adult with a little bit of mankind in his soul would make children of 5 or 8 years old work !

As you can see, child labour is a serious social issue. That’s why it must be stopped and you can be part of the fighting by joining our organization and sending donations. Every penny counts. As a member of the organization, you can contribute to make a change. One of our aims is to put pressure on governments through big gatherings to make them react and stop child labor in their countries. In order to help, you can also write letters to the employers to stop and threaten to report them to international authorities.

Unity makes strength, so come and join us !
