Bonjour j'ai une compréhension en Anglais à faire mais je suis vraiment nul. pourriez vous m'aider svp. Mercii par avance ! les questions sont ci dessous: 1)who is the author? 2)Would you say she is: aggressive, conciliatory, bitter, moderate, mocking, accusatory, revolted, indifferent, heinous, vindictive, jealous, contemptuous, sensible, ironical, calm 3)why were youngsters rioting a few years ago in Hackney? 4)what communities does she oppose? 5)Explain how Hackney has changed over the years. How are youngsters affected? 6)Try and define the category of people who have recently been settling in Hackney.
The author is Pauline Pearce, a black woman who lives in Hackney.
2)
I would say that the author is sad about the situation because more and more people can’t afford to stay there. She is revolted and upset because everything is more expensive today .She is not aggressive but as a moderated person, she wants things to change. She has conciliatory skills as she succeeded to shout down rioters nine years ago. She could be a perfect link between the two communities.
3)
Youngsters were rioting a few years ago against gentrification and £5 cappuccinos that they couldn't afford.
4)
She opposes « hipsters » ( « in beards and bobble hats » )that she calls « trendies », white people with money with black people who used to live here.
5)
Hackney has changed a lot. The place is unaffordable today. Youngsters are affected because they have nowhere else to go.
6)
People who have recently been settling in Hackney seem wealthy. Mainly white, rich enough to pay £5 for a cappuccino .They like shopping, going out at night. Their behaviours is not always correct. ( they pee and vomit when they drink too much ).They don’t care about the people who used to live there.
