What I think of the violence in this world! A symbolic order is inevitably a community creation. Not only the direction of a language holds only some common agreement on the respect for its rules, but all the reorganizations of the world and especially human exchanges which allows the manipulation of the language support themselves only of the common assent. This necessity of a prohibition of the murder as ethical contract in the foundation of any symbolic order, which allows the human being to speak, to think and to think, is the first reason which leads to say that the symbolization is the human wall against the violence. This capacity of symbolization allows concretely to define legal rules which adjust the human exchanges otherwise than by the direct violent conflict.
