I will tell you about the professional experience I had at Stokomani during the month of December 2022.
Indeed, I was able to benefit from three weeks of work in the Stokomani company in the city next to my home, that is to say in Saint-Dizier, more precisely at the Chaîne Saint-Amand. The contract between this company and me was renewed week by week, for three weeks, as previously stated, from the first week of December until Christmas.
To get a place in this store as a temp, I had to submit a CV beforehand before being contacted by phone and going through a job interview. During this interview, the current between the manager and me went very well and she immediately took me. Of course, from the beginning we were clear that it would only be a seasonal job for the end of the year period.
For the signing of the contract, I first went through an agency in Interim called KAPA, which allowed me to be protected and to have certain bonuses reserved for temporary workers.
When I arrived on the first day, I was able to get to know the whole Stokomani team. I was very well received by most of the employees and I almost immediately became friends with some of them. I am thinking in particular of Andrea, Océane, Tiphanie, Laura and Florian, with whom I always have the pleasure of meeting or even going for a drink.
During my period of work, I am mainly in contact with customers since I did a lot of checkout or shelving. But with the whole team, we had to work hand in hand to improve the company's profits as much as possible. Since every morning we had a briefing on the customer basket, the average basket, the income, the checkouts, the reputation of the store etc ... This allowed us to find solutions together to improve all these categories and to work more efficiently.
Unlike other stores, we had a uniform consisting only of a green jacket with the name of the store written. However, to complete our equipment we were all in possession of a walkie-talkie, an earpiece connected to it, a cutter, a small tablet allowing us to manage stocks, but especially a badge to take care of the cash register.
Even if I really enjoyed working for a financial side, but also because I was able to meet great people, discuss with an often pleasant clientele. I also have some bad experiences that come into play and make me keep some unpleasant memories of this job. To explain my words, I can state a few anecdotes. The first, I did not like the way of working of the managers, which put us a lot of pressure in front of the shop while they were having fun in the back room. Second story, finally during the day we were often short of change, and so I had to pay a customer with small coins, which did not please her and wanted me a bad comment on the store's website. I was able to explain it to my manager and she understood me completely. Last anecdote: I did not get along more than that with another saleswoman, in fact most young salespeople did not appreciate her due to the fact that she always felt superior to others thanks to her age.
Working in this company has allowed me to improve on some points that I will then mention now. Indeed, by talking with customers, advising them, getting to know them, I was able to improve my sense of communication and open up more with the rest of the world. Being a rather withdrawn young girl, I was able to get out of my shell and improve my human contact. This professional experience also allowed me to understand the world of sales and since that day I respect the saleswomen enormously in the face of the colossal work that is multiplied because of some unpleasant customers who think everything is allowed. When I go to any store, and I see things disturbed by customers, I can't help but put them back well.
