OBSERVE :
1. Shakespeare was a great writer: his plays were very successful.
2. Who was Shakespeare's wife ?
3. Victoria, were you an energetic child ?
4. Albert wasn't a king. His parents weren't English.
a. j'ai mis en gras les formes verbales au prétérit ( que tu dois entourer en rouge ) et souligné les sujets.
b. Dans les phrases 2 et 3 le verbe ( auxiliaire ) et le sujet sont inversés pour former les questions.
c. Pour former les phrases négatives on ajoute "not" ( ou la forme contractée "n't" )
DÉDUIS :
- Be est le seul verbe qui a deux formes au prétérit : I, he, she is et we , you, they are
- A la forme interrogative, je place, was ou were devant le sujet.
- A la forme négative, la négation ( not ) se place juste après was ou were
Leurs formes contractées sont wasn't et weren't
