Critique Négative: We recognize Briançon's leg too much, which overshadows Shakespeare's talent. Too much laughter, like filling, to compensate for the blatant lack of emotion. If Romeo holds the road, Juliette on the other hand does not find its place on the scene. Lack of profession, text problems, swinging arms, his character is flat and it is very unfortunate. Fortunately, the rest of the troop is pretty good. Finally, we see a pleasant spectacle, but we do not hear this dear William. Pity.
I loved. The story is known, but this new adaptation is dusting it off! Romeo and Juliet are breathtakingly fresh. In the space of an evening, I cried, laughed, became indignant, was terrified ...
Well done !
Point positive: The results are mixed for this Romeo and Juliet The eponymous duo made up of Ana Girardot and Neils Schneider turns out to be a wise choice as the complicity between the two actors is obvious.
The doped adaptation to gangster films proposed by the director remains on a fair and relevant thread.
We would have liked to cry over the fatal fate of these two lovers paralyzed by family quarrels impossible to tame but unfortunately, we laugh more than we are moved.
Résumé
Roméo Montaigu and Juliette Capulet are two young people who live in the beautiful city of Verona and whose families have hated each other since time immemorial. Met at a ball, they immediately fall in love with each other. Despite the animosity that their respective families have for each other, they choose to marry in secret with the help of Brother Laurence because their love is matched only by the hatred that their parents have for themselves. However, during a skirmish, Romeo kills Tybalt, Juliet's cousin. The girl is very saddened by this news but it does not alter her passion for her young husband. While Romeo is banished from the kingdom, Juliette's father decides to marry her to Count Paris. Terrified by this news, Juliette finds refuge with Brother Laurence, who gives her a phyltre allowing her to feign death for forty hours ...
