I believe it is absolutely essential for pupils to study and speak the English language during their education. English is considered to be the lingua franca (or the world language), a language that considered to be the most important and widely-used in the world. It is employed everywhere in the world economy, industry, and even world politics. The United Nations primarily distinguishes itself with English. It is a well-known fact that a person's level of English directly correlates to successes in their career. Speaking the language provides an opportunity to communicate and work with the millions and even billions of people. It is a language that incorporated terms and words from a variety of other languages, like French, German, Latin, Indian and even Arabic. With the fact that its grammar and linguistic structure is very simple, people consider English to be one of the easiest languages to learn and speak.
In regards to education, I believe that in order for a student to graduate high school, they are required to at least read and write English at a relatively advanced level. World law and politics depend on this language, so when a person uses that language, they can then interpret those laws and politics. It may not be likely that they will speak English every day, but it is likely they they will encounter it by literary form.
Learning English is not just an important skill, in my opinion, it is a necessary one.
