Bonjour voici mon expression écrite d'anglais pouvez vous me la corriger elle doit répondre a cette question: Does the American Dream demand sacrifices?

When people are asked: “How many of you are content and happy with what you have?" the reply of an overwhelming majority of people is “Not me. It is the level of our awareness that makes the difference between living “happily" or unhappily. Living in an increasingly artificial world, it’s easy to forget our spiritual roots. Perhaps that’s because unknowingly, many of us fell victim to the illusion of The American Dream and its promise for sweet success based on a materialistic values system.

To begin with i would like to definite an American Dream. So the American Dream is the belief that anyone, regardless of where they were born or what class they were born into, can attain their own version of success in a society where upward mobility is possible for everyone. The American Dream is achieved through sacrifice, risk-taking, and hard work, rather than by chance

The United States is a great country in terms of being home to so many nationalities, races, cultures, and religions.

So before rushing, ask yourself “at what cost? Is the high price tag for achieving success, as narrowly defined by THE AMERICAN DREAM, worth the effort and the great sacrifice?.

You sacrifice so much just “to get there" to discover that there is no “there" there. Then you become disillusioned and life easily becomes an empty experience devoid of meaning and real joy or purpose.

This is not to say that you should not strive for excellence or even material success. How can you help your fellow human being when you are suffering from lack yourself?.

THE AMERICAN DREAM is just an illusion that may not be in your best interest and can actually cause you more harm than good. Success has its own trappings. It demands a very high price tag that may not be worth it.

For milions of immigrants the New world represented Freedom, oppotunity, equality, growth and progress. In fact, it also meant :

- to cut off one's roots and abandon one's culture and language.

- to face a difficult journey (the steerage class dirtiness, promiscuity and illnesses often turned the crossing into a nightmare.

- to accept low-paid jobs and live in the poorest districts of New York.

As reality did not meet their expectations, they tended to gather into ethnic communities according to their native language, therefore creating ghettos.

The American way of life is a lifestyle based on a consumer society, a symbol of capitalist prosperity represented by household appliances, the automobile, Hollywood2, fashion, the content of American television series, etc. envied by Europeans
