PLUPERFECT = HAD + PARTICIPE PASSÉ
1. I was very tired when I got home. I had worked hard all day.
2. When I went to Bastia two years ago, I met a pretty woman who had lived there only a short time but knew the city very well.
3. If I had had money, I would have bought a car.
( = Si j'avais eu de l'argent j'aurais acheté une voiture )
4. When John Lennon released the song Imagine in 1971, he had already left the Beatles.
5. She had worked in this company since 1999 when she was fired.
6. If they had trained harder, they would have won the cup.
7. We had played tennis for one hour when it started to rain heavily.
