Slavery was mostly from the 17th to the 19th century. It was abolished in 1865 with the 13th amendment by Abraham Lincoln.

Segregation is the action or state of setting someone or something apart from others. The most well known form of segregation is racial segregation against African-Americains.

One of the most famous civil rights activists are Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr. and Harriet Tubman.

Jim Crow laws were state and local laws that enforced racial segregation in the Southern United States. Their doctrine was "Separate but equal". There were separate schools for white and black people. They couldnt get into bars or restaurants and had to sit in the back of the bus.

Black Panther Party or Black Panther Movement leaders Huey P. Newton, Eldridge Cleaver, and Bobby Seale spoke on a 10-point program they wanted from the administration which was to include full employment, decent housing and education, an end to police brutality, and blacks to be exempt from the military.

Jim Crow Laws is a caricature of a clumsy, dimwitted black slave. The name was also used as signs where segregated waiting rooms in professional offices were required, such as resting rooms, public pools, hospitals etc...

The KKK ( Ku Klux Klan ) was born in this setting in 1865 in Pulaski, Tennessee (USA) as a private club for confederate veterans. They grew inside a secret society terrorizing black communities, they were sometimes gruesome incidents where the victims were tortured and mutiled before being murdered.
