In the traditional communities a daily day began early with prayers and singing to "workship the rising sun" it was also about getting food so most of the peoples were planting,fishing and hunting animals,birds or other things.A traditional form of Maori cooking is the Hangi they cooked by using the eat of the earth,to say hello they were pressing nose together instaed of a kiss that is called "powhiri",to school children talks English but also native language they are school that only do one and others that do both they class start at 9am to 3pm children start school at 5 years old school start late in January and ends mid-December.
