3)harry potter is visualizing a scene from severus snape’s memory. the boy sees how the slytherin house teacher used to be bullied and messed around by his father including sirius black, when suddenly a girl named lily evans (which is his mother) tries to defend snape by provoking james and making him wake up to his actions.

in this situation, it is possible to qualify james as not only the intimidator but also as the victim of intimidation : the young boy was clearly intimidated by the rejection of lily, whom didn’t wanna go out with him and telling him how much of a person with no matters he is

imahoeforvoldemort 5) severus snape is well known for being a teacher at hogwarts, that can be one of the most honoring ones, and that he isn’t really talkative or barely showing any emotion, that can be the cause of (if we analyze his story from the beginning of the novels) having an abusive father and neglectful mother, being shunned by the other students when going to hogwarts as a kid, the maurauders constantly go out of their way

imahoeforvoldemort the maurauders constantly go out of their way to bully snape, which out of them is the one and only james potter, whom humiliated him in front of everyone including lily (his long time crush). this resulted in him calling her a mudblood, ending their friendship forever to then finding out two years later that his long time lover fell in love with his enemy. as an adult he overhears and interprets a prophecy for voldemort which ultimately leads to lily’s death.

imahoeforvoldemort he spent the next 16 years hated by hogwarts for being mean, the order of a death eater. He has to watch over the seed of his greatest enemy and his only love, and the object over which Lily died. Seeing her distinctive eyes on the face of the man he hated was torture.

imahoeforvoldemort He has to kill the only man alive who he can call "friend" (dumbledore), knowing that doing so will earn him the wrath of every good person in the world. and the list goes on and on ....... . in conclusion , by all means necessary, severus snape is in fact a tragic hero.
