Parent: Robert, have you finished your homework?
Robert: Yes, yes, I have.
Parent: I think that you are spending too much time watching your TV show. It hurts your eyes, and you aren't learning anything!
Robert: Okay, Boomer. It's not my fault that you don't know how to enjoy yourself.
Parent: Robert! That is such a rude thing to say! I am just worrying for you! Can you not grasp the concept? You are my son, and as your parent, it is my duty to protect you from dangers, even from yourself.
Robert: I'm not doing anything!
Parent: Yes you are! You spend so much time watching your TV shows that you don't play with your friends anymore. Spending so much time in front of the screens is bad for your mental health, as well as your learning. I don't pay all that money for you to waste your education, Robert!
Robert: Yes, I know. Back in your day you used to wake up at six to catch the bus to school, you told me this story ten times already! We're in the twenty-first century now, it's not my fault you're stuck in the past!
Parent: That's it. You're grounded. And no TV for two weeks!

Robert: But—
Parent: No buts. This is for the best.
Robert: Ugh! I hate you so much!!!
Parent: One day, Robert, you'll understand.
