hello Do you think that mathematics is less a particular science than an instrument in the service of other sciences Its a philosophical question If you can give me some of your oppinion Thankss
Mathematics can be divided into two parts : basic mathematics (which is about very precise domains and just a few mathematicians work on it) and applied mathematics used by scientists (engineer, biologist, physicist).
Nowadays, maths is mainly made to be used by other sciences and any scientist must have a "minimum maths knowledge". For instance, to understand how a computer works, and be able to built algorithm, this is easiest when you understand maths. The futur will use computer science and artificial intelligence and applied mathematics will be useful.
However, even if basic mathematics are less useful, they remain beautiful and we will always need people able to understand that and understand questions still unknown.
