hello everybody, i have an exercise thanks for helping Slavery was abolished in the 20th century by the United Nations. Do you think slavery is really gone, or is it still hiding in other forms?
Write an argumentative text, in which you express your point of view, presenting your thesis, supported by arguments and illustrated by examples. thanks
I believe that even though slavery was technically abolished in the 20th century, that it still exists but that it is just hidden in different forms. Some examples of modern slavery include more than 40 million people still toil in debt bondage in Asia, forced labor in the Gulf states, or child workers in agriculture in Africa or Latin America. In fact, the Global Slavery Index (2018) estimated that roughly 40.3 million individuals are currently caught in modern slavery, with 71% of those being female, and 1 in 4 being children. So, even though slavery isn't as prominent as it was in the 20th century and before hand, it still has a huge impact on the modern day economy and others.
