Il faut utiliser le prétérit BE + BV-ing
(+) was/were + BV-ing
(-) wasn't/weren't + BV-ing
a. Lady Gertrude /× work in the kitchen / sleep
→ Lady Gertrude wasn't working in the kitchen, she was sleeping.
b. Lord Roth/ drink with friends /× speak with the king
→ Lord Roth was drinking with friends, he wasn't speaking with the king
c. Lady Bertha / walk in the garden / ×read a book
→ Lady Bertha was walking in the garden, she wasn't reading a book.
Explications :
J'ai mis à la forme négative les verbes devant lesquels tu as mis une croix ... Je suppose que c'est ce qu'ils n'étaient pas en train de faire. Et à la forme affirmative, les verbes devant lesquels tu n'as rien mis ...
