Sythèse Locations and forms of power !
Bonjour a tous j'aimerai un avis sur ma sythèse d'anglais. J'ai aussi un peu de mal pour rédiger la conclusion donc si vous avez des idées je suis prenante ! :)

Locations and forms of power

I’m going to speak about the notion Location and Forms of power. First, I would like to give a definition: power is the ability or the official capacity to exercise control, authority. It can be a person, a group or a nation having great influence or control over others.
To illustrate this notion, I have chosen three documents.
The first document is a video entitled “the rise and fall of the British Empire”. Britain’s empire at the beginning of the 20th century was the largest in the world. Behind the rule of the queen Victoria, who is the symbol of this empire, during the 19th century, there was a will to grow the power of the empire, to become the first economic and political power on the world. Great Britain rest on its colonies which brought many resources, for example the tea from India. And finally, the Second World War marked the end of the British supremacy. Canada, Australia, New Zealand had already become independent, and then in 1947, India gained its independence. The British had ruled over India for more than two centuries when the country became a free nation.
The second document illustrates how British Empire influences on his colonies, especially on India. It’s a video entitled “Empire’s children”. In India for example, the British and their culture were so much present that it seems that Indians forgot who they really were. They don’t even know their own history, however they knew better Great Britain’s story that India’s story, they spoke English, it was like if they were English but with less rights. As for me Britain exercises an abusive power on India and those kinds of countries.
Most of the countries which had been British colonies joined the commonwealth. Today this association of countries still has the Queen at his head but Britain has no direct control over them. They are linked by economic cooperation but also by their common story. After the Second World War, Britain was confronted with the problem of reconstruction, consequently many immigrants from its formers colonies come to British because they were attracted by the jobs opportunities there. That’s what explains why they are so many ethnic groups in Great Britain today.
The third document is a extract from “The Big Book of Bad”. In the USA, since the end of the Second World War, communism is like a terrible thing. On February 1950, McCarty gave a speech about communism; he gave a list of communists that the authorities had to find and to stop. This man is famous because he fought against all the communists in the USA. This reflects how the American Government rejected freedom of thought and the pluralism of ideas during the Cold War.
