MUHAMMAD ALI

Introduction:

“Hello everyone, today I’m going to make a presentation about the world-famous boxer Muhammad Ali. The one who Float Like a Butterfly & Sting Like a Bee! First I’m going to explain you this important quote. “Vole comme un papillon, pique comme une abeille” in french. It means the quick movements & the definite shots that do Muhammad Ali in the Ring against his opponents.”

Muhammad Ali also known as Cassius Clay Jr. is born the 17th January 1942 and died recently the 3rd June 2016. He changed his first name in Muhammad Ali when he converted to Islam because he judged his last name in reference to the years of slavery that lived his ancestors.

Born into a modest family, Muhammad Ali grew up in Louisville, a city in the state of Kentucky. From an early age, he developed a strong fortitude because of some painful racism experiences. The passion for boxing dropped on him by accident: “I’m going to tell you how Muhammad Ali became a star ! So..” When he was 12 years old, an offender stole his bike. Cassius Jr. is went to see the closest police officer and told him naïvely:

- “ A thief stole my bike, I’m gonna hit him! ”

- “ Well, you better learn how to fight before you start challenging people” reply the officer Joe Martin, who was also a coach of boxing.

Few days later, Muhammad Ali joined his training club & this is how a legend is born…

He made a spectacular debut in the Boxing World at 18 years old, with the winning of the Golden Medal at the Olympic Games 1960 in Rome. He continued with a lot of important fight in the category half-heavy (75-80 kg) with champions as Sonny Liston, Mike Tyson etc.. He made a brilliant record in his career. He won more than 15 times the title of World Champion & he has a total of 60 games, 58 win, 54 by K.O (Knockout) & 2 loose. Unfortunately in 1984, Muhammad Ali has been affected by the Parkinson’s disease, which is the reason of his retirement & the cause of his death last year.
