I was walking in the park when a man took my camera ! I didn't expect anyone to do that, and I started running after him. As I was catching up with him, he suddenly stopped and I bumped him. While I was trying to get on my feet, he ran into the first street after the park.

Le past simple = il indique des actions passées courtes, soudaines et terminées.

Le past continuous (Be+ V-ing) indique également des actions passées terminées, mais qui étaient en cours à un moment précis et interrompues par celles au past simple
