Californians have a lot to run from- and this is what strikes me most about jogging. It is an action wich suggest not so much running towards a destination a running from a danger. Jogging is essentially a metaphysical act. It is not so much sportive as it psychic. It is an attempt to flee circumstance, and one wich is happily condoned by society because it has health and exercise at its pretext. Every time I look my window and see a jogger puffing,snorting, I always look behind him to see if I can catch a glimpse of the demon at his heel. Of course, there is none. None visible, that is.
