Bonjour, j'aurais besoin d'une correction svp I’m going to talk about the notion of “Locations and Forms of power “. First of all, I would like to give a definition of this tittle. Locations are a site, a position or the state of being located. Power is defined to a person, a group, or a nation having great influence or control over others and the official capacity to exercise control like the government. We may wonder, what are the different forms of power? To illustrate this notion I chose two documents: The Empire, a photo who represent British imperialism in the fourtieth. And in secondly, The dark continent, a short story By Leonard Kibera, published in 1985. Firstly, I’m going to talk about the document The Empire. This photograph may have been taken in the fourtieth or the fiftieth in one of Britain’s former colonies. It’s a typical representation of British imperialism since we can see native people looking inferior to the British settlers. Indeed, the natives are in the background while standing whereas the settlers are sitting. The man in the middle seems to be the governor of the colony. His seat looks like a throne as if he were the king of his country. Besides, the natives are slaves or servants to the white men. There are holding their hunting trophies, like elephant tusks and skins. It shows the British are taking the wealth of his country. They are also represented as greedy. The colony has to accept their domination and give them more precious product. They are ruling over this place so everything interesting they find there belong to them. It’s a typical example of their supremacy.
