I was a black kid living in the USA in the 1960s. I remember feeling the weight of discrimination and segregation everywhere I went. Schools, restaurants, and even public transportation were all divided by race. I witnessed the struggle for civil rights firsthand, and it was a difficult and often dangerous time. Despite the challenges, I also remember the strength and resilience of the black community, and the hope that we could one day achieve true equality.
