Merci d'avance ^^. IDEA OF PROGRESS The idea of progress can be defined as an improvement, a development or a change a technical, scientific or social advance which contibutes to making the world a better place. So, the subject of my oral presentation is about Indian. I’m going to talk about an India on the move, an India who is changing, an India who is becoming a powerful country. We can ask how did India change radically to a nascent superpower ? In first I'm going to talk about the economic progress and after the social progress in this country. Progress implies some changes, some evolution from an old order with old traditions to a new order. If a country could represent this evolution, we need to talk about India and her incredible story. Indeed, India rose from British colonization in the 18th century to a democratic country that has many things to offers to its 1,2 billion population that represents 17,5% of the world population. Previously in the Indian society the life is so hard, the majority of people live with one dollar of day. It was a country very poor and the system of classes didn't help for the development. But today the things changes, like the two stories of Suhas and Bisu. Suhas is a rich indian man. He had a remarkable company. He earns a lot of money and he became an inspiration for young people. He illustrates India's booming economy. For the second story illustrates life in a developping country. For Bisu must do umpleasant tasks to survive. He combs through mountains of ratting garbage searching for anything he can sell. However he is a better off than most of indianswho live for one dollar a day. He illustrates the economic gap in the India society with all of india's contrediction. On the other hand, the creation of the microcredit by the Nobel Peace Prize winner, Muhammad Yunus was a complete revolution for India. This system that offers the opportunity for extremely poor women to make ends meets is the reason of a growth of 70% annually in the industrial sector. Indeed, millions of women used microcredit to provide for their family and the government encouraged those people to know some kind of improvement in their daily lives. Thanks the booming today India impose her superpower in the diferents areas. The two stories prove that the processus of development are inequal in India he created a new social classes who break the traditional system of castes. In India the mentality of social castes change with the time. Indeed previously the system of the castes exist since 3,000 years ago. Since years the families decided to kill their daughter before they are born like the document India's girls go missing. Because they didn't want to pay a dowry when their girl want to married. The dowry is so expansive. Instead of to choice to pay the families prefer to kill their baby. It's for this the woman do abortion even if it's illegal to wait to know the sex of baby for decide to do abortion. I'm not according for this practice because all baby is human even if he indian society is diferent of our society. For me a human being comes before money. And kill all grils put a problem for a futur generation. But know the mentality are changing. In fact in the story of Another girl the main character Kavita want to keep her baby, her daughter but her husband isn't according with Kavita. It's for this Kavita lie of a mide wife and her husband. This story prove that in India the mentality of the system of the castes and for the dowry tradition begin to change. And maybe nowaday in the futur the abortion for kill his baby will be abolish. To conclude, I want to say that however, India is far from being a homogeneous country. Indeed, there are a lot of problems to fix in this country such as infanticide or the poverty of the majority of the population. But India is changing… changing radically. Indians are now more open-minded, womens have rights and can work thanks to microcredit and the society is more lenient… So it perfectly illustrates the idea of progress showing how the progress and modernization influence on citizens.
