Rearrange It Professor Jenkins: There's only so much you can do to entertain students if teachers say to themselves that learning is basically tedious. If a game is used to teach, it may not be obvious to the student you are attempting to keep interested, but it must have a teaching purpose behind it. In addition, I don't believe entertaining students would decrease the number of drop-outs. Professor Jenkins: I would say educational institutions seem to be doing an excellent job when it comes to delivering information to learners; however, theoretically, those institutions seem to lack the connection with challenges they'll face in adult life. Professor Jenkins: There has been overexposure to theory and underestimation of applicable practice in the classroom environment. That doesn't mean that theory should be left behind, but it's not lofty knowledge that guarantees that students will be able to perform a certain activity. In this case, the real scenes that take place in the work environment should be replicated in the classroom following the theoretical experimentation. Professor Jenkins: Well, for instance, why not teach fractions by reading recipes or talking about angles in a geometry class by rearranging the furniture in a room, which could be done on software. Also, I do not object to innovation in the syllabuses including subjects such as Entrepreneurship, Relationship Management, and Financial Management. Learning how to run a business is extremely important. Anyway, we cannot just remove the traditional subjects with all their important and useful content and throw the baby out with the dirty water. Professor Jenkins: Education is supposedly regarded as the formal set of stages through which children and teenagers go in order to be instructed and directed about the role they are to play in society, providing them with cultural and prims knowledge.
