C'est l'histoire d'un jeune garçon âgé de quinze ans : Christopher Boone. L'histoire débute lorsqu'il découvre que Wellington, le grand caniche noir de la voisine, Mme Shears, a été tué pendant la nuit.Il a été tué à coup de fourche.Christopher jure qu’il trouvera l’assassin. Le jeune Christopher, souffrant d'autisme, décide de découvrir l'assassin , le problème, c’est qu’il n’est jamais allé plus loin que le bout de sa rue. Le jeune garçon déteste les expressions qu’il ne comprend pas, et tout ce qu'il ne peut pas toucher ou qui n’est pas réel. Il aime les mathématiques, les plans et les cartes, tout ce qui est rangé et organisé, et il dit toujours la vérité. Christopher enquête et écrit les résultats de ses recherches dans un cahier pour faire un livre. Un jour, son père trouve le livre et ordonne à son fils d’arrêter ses recherches, mais ce dernier persiste, au risque de mettre en péril et de bouleverser tout son univers.
Ce récit est en fait écrit par Christopher, avec sa propre logique et ses incompréhensions. C’est l’univers d’un enfant handicapé en conflit avec un monde qu’il ne comprend pas. Mais surtout c’est un formidable témoignage sur la différence. On trouve également de l’humour mais involontaire de la part de Christopher. Ce sont les situations dans lesquelles il se met qui sont parfois amusantes.
Je ne peux que vous encourager à le lire, par curiosité, par plaisir. C'est un livre formidable.

But the problem is that he has never gone more far than his street. The young boy hates expressions that he doesn't understand and all things that he can't touch or what isn't real. He likes mathematics, plans and maps, what is orderly and organisé. He always says the truth. Christopher investigate and write results of his researches to do a book. One day, his father find the book and order to his son to stop his researches. But the boy persists, taking the risk to jeopardise and upset his univers.
This narrative is written by Christopher, with his own logic and incomprehensions. It's the univers of an handicapped child, in conflict with a world that he doesn't understand. But it's especially a wonderful testimony about differences. We can also find humor, but involuntary from Christopher. It's the situations provoked by him which are funnies.
I encourage you to read this story, by curiosity or pleasure. It's a very great book.
