Barack Hussein Obama II was born on August 4, 1961. His mother, Stanley Ann
Dunham, was born in Wichita, Kansas, and was of mostly English ancestry, she

became the first sitting president to publicly support same-sex marriage.
In a 2006 interview, Obama highlighted the diversity of his extended family: “It’s like a little mini-United Nations”, he
