Brazil may not even have taken the sixth place this year, but a Brazilian pet was in 1st place on the podium in the competition that awards the "Best Dog in the World". Little Joy, a female dog of the shih-tzu breed, was the big winner of the World Dog Show Brasil 2022, which took place on the last 11th in São Paulo.
The event is a dog competition and this year it was held at Expo Center Norte, in São Paulo, during the 8th and 11th of December. Joy was chosen as the champion of the Best In Show, or “Best Dog in the World” - a category that rewards animals that are closest to the standard of their breed.
The World Dog Show is considered one of the biggest dog awards events in the world. This year, it brought together more than 4,000 dogs from 55 countries, in addition to judges from five continents.
According to Estadão, the conference, in addition to the Best In Show category, also featured competitions in animal dressage and aesthetics. And it also has junior handling, whose dog tutors are children or teenagers.
"Our World Dog Show was a spectacle. The shih-tzu showed itself very well, it's beautiful, it has an exceptional head, perfect movement, fantastic conditioning. That's why, in my opinion, it was the one that most deserved this victory”, said Fábio Amorim, judge who presented the prize to the dog Joy.
