That's what friends are for
Sally is terribly upset because her boyfriend Ted split up with her last weekend.
Her close friend Ingrid went to see her at home.
Ingrid: Our classmate Mildred told me that you and Ted…
Sally: Yes. We split up.
Ingrid: But why, for heaven's sake! It seemed that you both were so much in
love!
Sally: Well, you know .. , Some people hate other peoples happiness.
Ingrid: What happened?
Sally: By using a cell phone, somebody photographed me as I talked to Alfred.
Do you remember him?
Ingrid: Sure! Your former boyfriend.
Sally: Exactly. This somebody sent a text to Ted with a picture of Alfred and
me. Ted didn't like what he saw.
Ingrid: Oh, it's ridiculous! Alfred is a nice guy and he's engaged to Jane!
Sally: Ted met me and showed me the picture.
Ingrid: And so what? Didn't you convince him that he was wrong?
Sally: He simply said “Dead end”, and went away. Oh, Ingrid, I’m so desperate
because I loved him so much! And I still love him.
Ingrid: I know it, dear friend. But I'm here to listen and comfort you.
Sally: Oh, Ingrid, how nice of you to say that! You have many things to do and

Ingrid: Never mind. That's what friends are for.
